| Washington State DSHS Discontinues Interpreter Services- Language Fusion is Here to Help! |

OLYMPIA, WA, November 22, 2010 – As of March 1, 2011 Washington State DSHS will no longer fund interpreter services. Clinics providing services to non-English speaking, Medicaid patients* will be required to provide interpreters directly.
Currently these clinics use a regional brokerage to place all interpreter requests. These requests are then distributed to language agencies, such as Language Fusion, under contract with the brokerages. The language agency then recruits and schedules the interpreters for the appointment.
Beginning in March, clinics will be required to seek interpreter services directly with language agencies. If you currently schedule interpreters for Medicaid patients through a brokerage, Language Fusion is already providing interpreters for you through the brokerage. We look forward to servicing all of your interpreter needs directly.
